GOPAL ADIVREKAR (1940- 2008) Born in Phanasgoan district in Maharashtra, Gopal Adivrekar has taken abstract art form to a new high by developing his own inividual stye.His works are devoid of any natural forms but yet symbolize elements of nature.Graduated from J.J School of art in 1963, the artist has held several exhibitions in India & abroad.

Gopal Adivrekar was associated with the Weavers Service Center as an art designer for over two decades. He has also been honoured with a National Award By the Lalit Kala Akademy in 1986.
